Dig Deep

John 15:4-5 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (KJV)

You know, the deeper you get into the realm of God the more rooted and grounded you become, and the less likely you are going to be moved away again from the hope of the gospel of Christ.

Psalms 1:3-5 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (4) The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. (5) Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. (KJV)

Have you ever gotten close to a big tree and looked up? Yeah quite a sight, not only above, but below there is quite a root system as well. The more rooted that tree becomes the more of a wind it would take to blow it over. However, if that tree never gets rooted and grounded, and is cut off from that source of living waters then it withers, dries up and is an easy pushover. So are all those that begin in the Spirit and then think they can perfect their walk by the flesh.

Luke 8:5-8 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. (6) And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. (7) And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. (8) And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. (KJV)

How about all those phony hundredfold messages you heard about in the past, you know, where you give your money and get a hundred times back in return? Well, that didn’t come from our Lord, but rather it came from a foul spirit, the prince of the power of the air that is blowing people away with a bunch of false doctrines. In fact if the truth be known, we are the ones that need to be bearing fruit a hundredfold, bringing the fruit of the Spirit to maturity.

Matthew 13:22-23 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. (23) But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. (KJV)

As one can clearly see, our Lord expects us to grow and mature in the realm of the Spirit, because after all if we are not moving forward in our walk then we are regressing; which like the Word says if any man draws back the Lord will have no pleasure in their walk.  So before you go demanding a hundredfold return from God you had better make sure He is getting a hundredfold effort and return on His Spirit that was poured out on you.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)

Good, acceptable, and perfect will of God can be translated into bringing forth fruit; some thirty, some sixty, and some to the point of maturity, hundredfold. If one desires to grow in their walk with the Lord and dig deep into His realm then they will have to quit acting, thinking, and hanging around with those of this fallen world. He must increase, but only when ‘I’ decrease.
