Comparing Spiritual Things
1 Corinthians 2:12-13 Now we have
received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that
we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (13) Which
things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but
which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
(KJV)
Man’s wisdom is limited, and so are the
many that choose to operate according to their carnal senses and not the
Spiritual senses that we should be exercising. While the world today in its
fallen wisdom will try to tell you that it is Christmas day, those that
have matured in the things of God know that you can’t take something carnal
and try to make it fit into the Spiritual realm; it just doesn’t work
because it was never intended to work. So how do you compare things; do you
make sure it lines up with the word of God, or do you just blindly accept
whatever version man throws your way?
Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are
they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for
that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
(KJV)
With all the red flags that associate to
a day like today, you know the one that man calls Christmas (which by the
way has nothing to do with Christ), the first thing you will notice is that
when something is a hit with mankind it obviously did not come from God did
it? But hey you wouldn’t want to be known as some weirdo would you because
you decide not to engage in this stuff that man says is such a special day?
Well, when you truly take the time to compare something spiritual with
another Spiritual being, that being Christ, you will find out that being a
friend of the world makes you an enemy of God. So now who really is the
weirdo?
Galatians 4:9-11 But now, after that ye
have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak
and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? (10) Ye
observe days, and months, and times, and years. (11) I am afraid of you,
lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. (KJV)
The things that man says are so
important, when you compare them to what God says is important, the
difference is like night and day isn’t it? If Paul saw that the people had
gone back to weak and beggarly elements back then, how do you think he
would react today with all the nonsense that goes on every year at this
time? Probably the same reaction he had then; I could just see him sitting
there with his head in his hands wondering if all his teaching was in vain
and a waste of time.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this
world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may
prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)
I thought that a Christian was supposed
to be different from those of the world? Yet when I look around at this
time of year, the so called Christians are just like the rest of the world,
they just throw a few scriptures out there and try to pull God down to
man’s level, making it appear that He is on board with this nonsense. After
all, if the so called Christians hadn’t compromised with the pagans in the
first place we wouldn’t have this abomination man calls Christmas.
1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I
spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I
became a man, I put away childish things. (KJV)
You know when growing up, once I got
around the age of 9 or so and someone in my age group mentioned that they
believed in Santa Claus, we would usually tease them and call them
childish. Today having spent some time with the Lord and growing up in His
realm, when I see others that give credence to man’s holidays, especially
those that claim that they know the Lord and should know better, it makes
me wonder who and what they truly compare their lives with, man or God.
Jeremiah 10:2-4 Thus saith the LORD,
Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of
heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. (3) For the customs of the
people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the
hands of the workman, with the axe. (4) They deck it with silver and with
gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. (KJV)
If you spent more time with Our Father in
heaven you wouldn’t be acting like such a child here on earth. Instead of
trying to conform to the things of this world and worldly people, you
should be coming out from among this nonsense and being separate. However,
like the Word says, when we compare ourselves with other people then we are
not wise. If you still have doubts on the origins of Christmas then you
might want to Google ‘Christmas saturnalia’ to get the true take on what
spirit this abomination really originated from. Because obviously many are
not taking the time to compare spiritual things. The word ‘compare’ means
to interpret, and obviously many are misinterpreting the things of God and
are settling for man’s interpretation instead.
