Going All The Way
Luke 14:28-30 For which of you, intending
to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he
have sufficient to finish it? (29) Lest haply, after he hath laid the
foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock
him, (30) Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. (KJV)
So how far do you really intend to go
with the Lord? Are you in it for the long haul, planning on making it to
the end, or did you just stop by for a few provisions in a time of need and
are now going to go your own direction? Many begin with the Lord and have
good intentions, but in a time of trial they decide that they have had
enough. That blessing stuff they heard about is fine, that other stuff
about dying to self and taking up our own cross, yeah that just may not be
for me.
Luke 14:31-33 Or what king, going to make
war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he
be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty
thousand? (32) Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth
an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. (33) So likewise, whosoever
he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
(KJV)
Have you consulted with the King lately,
to see what it is going to take to make it home, or have you called it
quits and are looking for an alternative way out? The reality is that there
are no short cuts and there is no easy way home. It is a narrow and
straight path that leads to our Father’s house; and in the end only a few
will really find it, and then continue on it as well.
Hebrews 12:1-3 Wherefore seeing we also
are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside
every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run
with patience the race that is set before us, (2) Looking unto Jesus the
author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand
of the throne of God. (3) For consider him that endured such contradiction
of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (KJV)
Jesus Christ was the first born again man
that made it home and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, and
like a coach mediating to us personally what it is going to take for us to
get there as well. As we see with our Lord, in order for Him to inherit
eternal life He had to forsake His own life. Any weight of this world, or
any sin, which is unbelief, needs to be discarded and left behind if you
truly desire to run this race and make it to the end without dropping out.
Are you truly willing to endure your own Spiritual cross, and nail whatever
sin would manifest to it, no matter who or how it manifests? Unless you
forsake all, well, then don’t expect the same reward our Lord has, unless
you are truly willing to walk in His same steps.
Mark 3:31-35 There came then his brethren
and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. (32) And
the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and
thy brethren without seek for thee. (33) And he answered them, saying, Who
is my mother, or my brethren? (34) And he looked round about on them which
sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! (35) For
whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister,
and mother. (KJV)
So who do you consider your real family,
those of the carnal realm or the Spiritual one? If someone is on the
outside, as verse 31 makes reference to, seeking for you to join them on
the outside instead of staying inside or within the will of God, will they
or anyone else have more of an influence on you than your heavenly Father?
Are you really going all the way with the Lord? Because only those that do
His will are going to be given access to His eternal reward. God bless and
take it to the House.
