People Under A Rest

Hebrews 4:9-11 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (10) For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. (11) Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (KJV)

In this realm, when someone is put under arrest they cease from what they were doing, and are now being led by someone else. God rested because He knew what was best for His people, having provided all that they would need to make it from this fallen realm into His eternal one. Now it is a matter of you the believer making it a priority as well, so that you can know what the Lord’s plan and intention is for you, finding your place in His body of believers.

2 Timothy 1:9-10 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (KJV)

God made this calling before this world around us even began to take shape. This plan is based on grace through faith, and definitely not of our works. The only thing that does work is believing in His Son who was sent to do a completed work on our behalf, without sinning. The more you are able to see this plan manifest in your life, the more it brings light so that you can see the path our Lord ordained for you to walk in, long before you were around to analyze it or make any changes to it that you thought were necessary.

Proverbs 4:18-19 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (19) The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. (KJV)

The Bible says that the just shall live by faith, so the more you learn to hear and see into the realm of the Spirit, the more plain this path becomes. The eyes of your understanding are now enlightened so that you can know that you are on this path that was purposed by our Lord before the founding of this world.

1 Peter 1:18-20 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; (19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (20) Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, (KJV)

The only place that you will find the true rest that God has for His people is in the realm of the Spirit. You won’t find peace with anything on this earth, like silver and gold that man has put in high regard, even above their love for the Lord. Are you one of God’s people today, under a rest to His will, or have you been sidetracked, thinking that silver and gold would buy you peace and contentment?
