The Old Bait And Switch
Titus 1:14-16 Not giving heed to Jewish
fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. (15) Unto the
pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is
nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. (16) They
profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable,
and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. (KJV)
Do you know what the old bait and switch
routine consists of? Well every year, especially around the holidays,
retailers will promote items to get many into their stores, then when those
items have run out, they have you switch to something else and settle with
what’s left. Sound familiar? Yeah, the devil and his workers have been
doing that with religion, which is his playground and he has been playing a
fallen mankind like a fiddle. The enemy fiddles with the doctrine enough so
that it appears to have everything, everything except the truth that is. So
what appeared to look so good on the outside in reality was an abomination
to the inside, or the inward man that wasn’t getting fed.
Matthew 1:18-19 Now the birth of Jesus
Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. (19)
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a
public example, was minded to put her away privily. (KJV)
Every year just like clockwork on
December 25th, mankind is pointed to a birth that took place
some 2000 years ago over in Israel, pointing the people to the physical.
However, for those that know the truth, this did not take place in
December, so how could God ever use a lie to promote the truth? Anyways,
while mankind keeps getting pointed to the outward realm by other carnal
people, the Lord is pointing His true Church to an inward birth, something
that Is Real today, right now, a new birth that is taking place in you.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we
faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed
day by day. (17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; (18) While
we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not
seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are
not seen are eternal. (KJV)
All through the New Testament we are
encouraged, and being led or pointed to the inward things, which we should
be looking to, by not being influenced any longer by the outward. We are
told to walk by faith, the substance of things not seen, where the true
evidence of God and His plan of salvation is being manifested through His
Son.
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 Wherefore
henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ
after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. (17) Therefore if
any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new. (KJV)
Wow, talk about a bait and switch; while
many profess to know God, and many are drawn into their religious
organizations by what they claim is Spiritual, the truth be known, many
still deny God and the new creation or birth that He would like to see His
people operate in, which is Christ in you the only hope of glory. How about
you today, have you fell for the bait and switch, or do you have your Spiritual
senses exercised enough today to know the difference between what is of God
and what is a cheap knockoff imitation?
