Trouble In Paradise
Genesis 3:4-7 And the serpent said unto
the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (5) For God doth know that in the day
ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods,
knowing good and evil. (6) And when the woman saw that the tree was good
for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to
make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also
unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (7) And the eyes of them both
were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves
together, and made themselves aprons. (KJV)
Ever hear the term “trouble in paradise”?
You know when people that seem to have it made suddenly are about to take a
fall? Well, as we see in the beginning of man’s existence here on earth
trouble did come a knocking, and then that door was opened. However, the
door that was opened was not the one the woman envisioned, or should I say
the picture did not turn out the way it was advertised, but rather it came
with some consequences; you know like the fine print that gets hidden away
so that you won’t see it ahead of time? We too are in the same position; we
have been reborn into a realm where our Lord said that He would supply all
our need, which first and foremost is the Spiritual one. We also have a
choice to partake of the forbidden fruit that, oh it may look so good on
the outside but inwardly it is an abomination, or another way of looking at
it, a poison.
Hebrews 12:14-15 Follow peace with all
men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (15) Looking
diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of
bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; (KJV)
Here we see trouble again, this time the
root of that is described as bitterness, the after effects will result in
many being defiled; you know those many that were called of God? One of the
definitions of bitterness is poison, something that you did not see or take
the time to read the label, ended up causing much more harm than good.
Getting to and knowing the root cause of this can eliminate a lot of
trouble in your own walk with the Lord, so that you can continue to operate
in His peace.
Galatians 1:6-7 I marvel that ye are so
soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another
gospel: (7) Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and
would pervert the gospel of Christ. (KJV)
One of the definitions of trouble is to
agitate as well as stir up or cause one to be restless. If you are not
watching and being alert, you know keeping your Spiritual senses exercised,
then you won’t be able to identity ahead of time what is of God and what is
a root cause of man’s fall into perdition all over again. Just like in the
beginning with Adam and Eve, God had put them in a good place and had a
plan for their life, one that was much better than the alternative one they
settled for.
Ephesians 4:30-32 And grieve not the holy
Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. (31) Let
all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be
put away from you, with all malice: (32) And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath
forgiven you. (KJV)
Just like with a poison, once it is
ingested the body will begin to shut down, and a lot of things will happen,
none of which is good. Instead of entertaining that bitterness, root it out
and keep it on the outside, so that you don’t end up outside of the place
the Lord would have you to be in today. Trouble in paradise? Not on my
watch. God bless and keep the faith.
