What’s In A Name?
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I
have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the
Father in my name, he may give it you. (KJV)
Sometimes the scriptures get
misconstrued, twisted and perverted as well, because when reading the above
verses some or should I say many, teach the name it claim it doctrine of
prosperity. However, for those that have their Spiritual eyes and ears
enlightened to the truth know that when they ask for things in the name of
Christ they will be expecting the things that pertain more to the Spiritual
realm rather than this lower fallen one.
Luke 12:29-31 And seek not ye what ye
shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. (30) For
all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father
knoweth that ye have need of these things. (31) But rather seek ye the
kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV)
For those that ask for things that
pertain to this life, well it shows you where their heart really is at and
what their true motives are. God already knew, already planned, and yes,
even provided what you would need before the foundation of the world. The
things we should be seeking now should be those things above, so that we
can learn to walk in the wisdom of God. God is not a dummy, He did not
forget your prayer requests; however, He did ask you to leave your cares at
His alter and then move forward in your pursuit of Spiritual things, you
know the things that will endure to the end?
Colossians 3:1-2 If ye then be risen with
Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the
right hand of God. (2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on
the earth. (KJV)
You know, when you go to your computer
and Google a title or a name, then those things that pertain to that name or
title is the information that will be presented. When you ask for those
things that pertain to Christ and His kingdom, then the answer that you
will get will be Spiritual, feeding your inner man. When you try to seek
things that are not healthy to your Spiritual walk, even though you ask God,
you will find that you won’t receive your response from Him, but rather the
enemy will be more than glad to throw a curveball your way. When you seek
or ask for the wrong things, it is like trying to Google information on the
web but not type in the right name that you are seeking to find.
James 4:2-4 Ye lust, and have not: ye
kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have
not, because ye ask not. (3) Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss,
that ye may consume it upon your lusts. (4) Ye adulterers and adulteresses,
know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (KJV)
You know, if you keep listening to all
these name it claim it clowns that tell you that you can ask anything in
the Lord’s name and it is done, well, you need to read the fine print so to
speak in your Bible. Our Lord has a treasure chest of wisdom and Spiritual
knowledge for you to tap into so that you can have the mind of Christ and
be set free from the fears and confusion of this fallen world. Our Lord
came that you would have life, and have it more abundantly.
Proverbs 15:24 The way of life is above
to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. (KJV)
What’s in a name? Well, for all those
that know and access the Father through Jesus Christ, they find joy, peace,
liberty, confidence, and boldness; and instead of a spirit of fear, they
receive power, love, and a sound mind.
