Speaking Of The Lord
John 8:28-30 Then said Jesus unto them,
When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and
that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these
things. (29) And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me
alone; for I do always those things that please him. (30) As he spake these
words, many believed on him. (KJV)
You know, this man Jesus of Nazareth was
an effective speaker, and because of it many believed and continue to
believe on Him. Even though some people still claim that He was God; if He
was God then why would He have had to be taught? The fact remains that He
was a man just like we are, one who relied on the leading and guiding of
the Holy Spirit. In fact, this man was so effective at walking in the realm
of the Spirit that He was able to make the statement, quite boldly I might
add, that He always did those things that pleased the Father. Wouldn’t that
be nice if we could make the same statement as well, knowing it was true?
John 12:48-50 He that rejecteth me, and
receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have
spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (49) For I have not
spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment,
what I should say, and what I should speak. (50) And I know that his
commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the
Father said unto me, so I speak. (KJV)
When you give testimony to the things of
God, are you doing it to build up other people, or are you doing it to
build yourself up, you know, like doing your alms before men? The same
Father that was speaking through this man (Jesus of Nazareth) is the same
one that desires to speak His Word through you also so that many will
believe and continue to believe on Him. So, how confident are you in the
fact that the words that you are speaking are coming from above, words that
are Spirit and will bring life as well?
John 14:23-26 Jesus answered and said
unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love
him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (24) He that
loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not
mine, but the Father's which sent me. (25) These things have I spoken unto
you, being yet present with you. (26) But the Comforter, which is the Holy
Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV)
You know, there is a big difference
between Bible memorization and letting the Holy Ghost bring to remembrance
what needs to be said. Remember what our Lord said about trusting in Him
with all our heart, not our head, so that we don’t lean to our own
understanding? You have entered a new realm, you are now in a retraining
process, learning to walk by faith and not by sight or any other carnal
senses, but exercising your Spiritual senses to know what is of God and
what is not. You need to learn to rely more on what the Holy Spirit is
speaking and less on what everyone else is saying if you truly desire to be
used of God and speak effectually on His behalf. So get out of your head
and into the heart; that being the new heart God gave you so that you can
now live by the Word that proceeds forth from His mouth, and not by what
the majority tries to dictate.
John 16:12-15 I have yet many things to
say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. (13) Howbeit when he, the Spirit
of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak
of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will
shew you things to come. (14) He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of
mine, and shall shew it unto you. (15) All things that the Father hath are
mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto
you. (KJV)
The realm of God is described as
unspeakable, because sometimes it is hard to put into words and describe
the things of God. That is why the Holy Spirit was sent, like a filtering
process, to take the things of God and show you personally how to operate
effectively in His realm. Now if the Holy Spirit was to just speak and
rattle off things from above that you were not familiar with or able to
comprehend, what benefit would that be to you? However, that Spirit takes
the things of God and shows them to you where you are at in your walk and
what it is you need to hear personally. This same principle holds true with
you the believer; what good would it do if you go out and try to impress
people with things they are not ready to hear, or are not able to
comprehend, that would be ineffective to say the least. So you not only
need to learn to hear and interpret the Word for yourself, but you need to hear
how to deliver it and let the Spirit speak through you as well, so that
when you speak it will be in a way that is easy to be understood also.
Remember how the Lord dealt with you? Like when you started school, you
didn’t start out in college but rather first grade. Well, Spiritually the
same principle holds true; you need to hear how to deliver God’s message
where the people are at in their walk if you desire to deliver it
effectively, and do as well as speak those things that are pleasing in His
sight.
John 15:26-27 But when the Comforter is
come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth,
which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: (27) And ye also
shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. (KJV)
Remember it takes one to know one; in
other words it takes something Spiritual to give an accurate account of the
spiritual realm. The Holy Spirit was sent on our behalf to lead and guide
us into all truth, to be our eyes, ears, and mouth if you would, learning
to operate in a whole new realm according to the inward sight and not the
outward. The Holy Spirit is ready, willing, and able to give testimony to
the things of God, and how He would have you operate within His realm; the
question today is ‘will you let Him’?
2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as
many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in
the sight of God speak we in Christ. (KJV)
Speaking of the Lord, as we see, many are
not giving heed to the Spirit, but rather they have corrupted the Word with
their own thoughts and interpretations of it. Many in fact have sold out,
actually selling the gospel to others that have sold out as well. So what
is your motive for speaking about the Lord, and what account will you be
giving? Will it be an accurate one through the Spirit where few are willing
to walk, or will you be following the many who miss the mark and give their
own account rather than the Holy Spirit’s account?
