Do You Know What Is Given?
Mark 4:11-13 And he said unto them, Unto
you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them
that are without, all these things are done in parables: (12) That seeing
they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not
understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins
should be forgiven them. (13) And he said unto them, Know ye not this
parable? and how then will ye know all parables? (KJV)
Strong’s definition for ‘know’:
1097
ginosko (ghin-oce'-ko); a prolonged form of a primary verb; to
"know" (absolutely) in a great variety of applications and with
many implications (as follow, with others not thus clearly expressed):
KJV-- allow, be aware (of), feel, (have)
know (-ledge), perceived, be resolved, can speak, be sure, understand.
What a blessing, not only the fact that
we have salvation but that we can actually know how it works, especially in
our own lives. Given the fact that this plan affects our eternal outcome,
it is comforting to know and to be aware of this so that we can eliminate
any of the guesswork. The kingdom of God is described as a mystery;
something that was hidden is now made available to any and all that would
call upon the name of our Lord. Oh but how few have taken advantage of the
free gift, especially when it involves a life or death situation. Too many
are still in the dark and haven’t come to a working knowledge themselves of
the mystery of the kingdom of God.
Romans 16:25-26 Now to him that is of
power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus
Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since
the world began, (26) But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of
the prophets, according to the commandment
of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience
of faith: (KJV)
Well let’s see, God gave it, something
that was a mystery is now available to His people, something that was kept
secret is now made manifest. Yet with that in mind, how come in the end the
many that were called don’t get it, and only a few are chosen? Well, a
Spiritual mystery requires a Spiritual enlightenment, and that is where it
is missed and stays a mystery to many, even those that claim they are
working on our Lord’s behalf.
Colossians 2:1-4 For I would that ye knew
what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as
many as have not seen my face in the flesh; (2) That their hearts might be
comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full
assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God,
and of the Father, and of Christ; (3) In whom are hid all the treasures of
wisdom and knowledge. (4) And this I say, lest any man should beguile you
with enticing words. (KJV)
Strong’s definition for
‘acknowledgement’:
1922
epignosis (ep-ig'-no-sis); from 1921; recognition, i.e. (by
implication) full discernment, acknowledgement: KJV-- (ac-) knowledge
(-ing, -ment).
Paul experienced great conflict from the
enemy, because for those that would come to a working knowledge of this
mystery they would find a full assurance and understanding of who they are
in Christ, and how to walk in His wisdom and knowledge. It’s in Christ that
are hidden all these treasures; and if one treasures these more than the
things of this realm then they will find out what was given to them in the
gift of God which is Christ in you the only hope of glory. It is given for
us to know, and to find comfort in what God provided for us through His Son
so that we could experience this perfect love which casts out all fear and
doubt. Unto us it is given to know, and not guess or wonder if we are on
the path our Lord ordained for us just like He did for Jesus of Nazareth.
This man Jesus of Nazareth knew who He was in Christ, and was sent our way
so that He could manifest and show us personally the revelation of this
mystery.
Ephesians 3:1-5 For this cause I Paul,
the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, (2) If ye have heard of the
dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: (3) How
that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in
few words, (4) Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the
mystery of Christ) (5) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons
of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the
Spirit; (KJV)
When you go through the Word of God and
see the word ‘mystery’ you will see also that it involves Christ. There was
not much of a mystery to the man Jesus of Nazareth because many could give
an accurate description of the son of man, his occupation, as well as his
earthly family. The mystery comes in the knowledge of Christ, the inward
man, the second man sent from heaven so that we could see and understand
His Word through His knowledge and not our limited one. Keep in mind that
this revelation does not come through man, but rather it is something that
you will need to hear from the Son Himself personally in order for you to
see it for yourself.
Colossians 4:2-3 Continue in prayer, and
watch in the same with thanksgiving; (3) Withal praying also for us, that
God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ,
for which I am also in bonds: (KJV)
Paul’s prayer for himself, as well as
those that are chosen of God to speak on His behalf, is that they could
share this wisdom from above so that others also could see and know what
was given to us to know, and no longer have to guess or be in the dark. Do
you know this for yourself, or is it still a mystery?
