Last Man Standing

1 Corinthians 15:45-47 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. (46) Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. (47) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (KJV)

Remember what happened to the first man Adam? He took a direct hit from the enemy because he let down his guard and got knocked out. For those of you who have read through the whole Bible you see there is a last man standing; one who didn’t fall for the lies of the enemy, and one who is still standing and will be forever. Knowing that you have access to God this day to hear His message of faith and deliverance, have you made it a priority, or were you a first round knockout today?

2 Corinthians 4:3-6 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: (4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (KJV)

You know, this second man from heaven has a name and so does the first man. Together they make it a complete name, and for those that know this name they are complete as well. Jesus Christ is the name that gives us access to the throne of God; a name the enemy is doing all he can to keep God’s people from accessing to receive this knowledge from above. For those that don’t know the difference, who focus more on the carnal, they are described as still being blind or in spiritual darkness until they allow this Spiritual light to shine in their hearts.

2 Corinthians 2:14-17 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. (15) For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: (16) To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? (17) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (KJV)

Is your life one of triumph or tragedy; one where even though to the outward you look like a total failure, yet inwardly you have peace, a confidence as well as a boldness, knowing that you and the Lord are likeminded, of one accord and one mind? For those that know who Christ is personally, that second man from heaven which is abiding in each and every believer, they will go into each and every day, every situation they encounter, expecting nothing less than this victorious triumphant outcome. Those that don’t know who Christ is, well I picture them in a dark room fighting against an opponent they can’t see, and getting blindsided in return.

Colossians 1:26-29 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: (27) To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (28) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: (29) Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. (KJV)

Paul in his writings describes this wisdom from above as a mystery, actually a Spiritual mystery, which takes a Spiritual person to understand it. Paul was warning the people of God, that in order to mature and continue to stand fast in the faith they would have to come to a working knowledge themselves of Christ; that second man from heaven who was working mightily in him desires to be working mightily in you also. It will take a personal knowledge of this mystery in order for you to escape the darkness of your carnal mind, letting this light shine in your own heart.

Matthew 16:13-15 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? (14) And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. (15) He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? (KJV)

The Lord asked His own disciples how they would describe who He was, and as we see for about every one of them came a different answer. In fact if you go back through the gospels you will see that many were able to identify with the outward man Jesus, the son of a carpenter, with Mary and his brothers and sisters. So back then, as well as today, many can give you an answer based on their outward sight or vision; and with many of them you will get an answer as well based on many popular opinions; you know, like all these denominations we are surrounded with today.

Matthew 16:16-18 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. (17) And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (KJV)

As we see though, or Lord was looking for something deeper, an answer and a name that would accurately describe the second man from heaven that was sent for our deliverance. We also notice, that upon this revelation, upon this rock solid foundation, the gates of hell would no longer prevail against mankind; thus allowing them to stand and not fall into sin and separation from God. Do you know this name by heart so that you won’t have to keep falling, but rather continue rooted and grounded so that you can withstand all the fiery darts of the wicked one? There is a last man standing, are you standing with Him?
