No Longer Just Carnal
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is
spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. (KJV)
Before your conversion in Christ you were
just carnal, stuck in that fallen realm, and basically sold out under sin.
Even though you desired a new life and different results, like we see in
the movies the happy fairy tale endings, you were stuck until you allowed
something or someone greater to take over and get you out of this bondage.
1 John 4:2-4 Hereby know ye the Spirit of
God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is
of God: (3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come
in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof
ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
(4) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater
is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (KJV)
You know, a lot of people are kept in the
carnal realm because they give ear to carnal people who ignore the Spiritual
realm. For those of you who desire to be Spiritual and set free it takes
someone greater than your carnal nature to show you the way of escape from
this present evil world. Many people ignore the second man from heaven,
that being Christ, and only give credence to the first man or the carnal
one. If you notice, it takes two to tango so to speak, His Spirit bearing
witness to our spirit so that we can see the liberty that we have in
Christ. Many ignore this wisdom from above; to those that do so they are
labeled as antichrist, no longer considered Spiritual but rather carnal;
and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 And I, brethren,
could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as
unto babes in Christ. (2) I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for
hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. (3) For
ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and
divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? (KJV)
If you know who Christ is, and are mature
and partaking of the meat of His Word then you won’t see any reason to
strive or contend with others because you know for fact that God is true
and man is the liar. Oh, but a sure sign of those that are stuck in the
realm of the flesh is, a bunch of babies crying over spilt milk, still
fussing and fighting with other carnal Christians who desire the spotlight
and attention on them and not on the Lord. I can sum it all up in one word,
‘denominations’ would be an accurate way of describing it.
1 Peter 2:4-5 To whom coming, as unto a
living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (5)
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus
Christ. (KJV)
Oh, look at our works, and look how big of
a congregation we have built up, my aren’t we doing good? Remember what God
said about those that do their works to be seen by man? Yeah, they would be
described as being in the carnal column and not the Spiritual one. Those
that are in that realm will get a carnal reward as well; they may get the
approval of man but that is as far as it is going to go for them. How about
presenting yourself to God a living sacrifice, entering into your prayer
closet in secret and letting Him reward you? How about keeping your body in
subjection to His Spirit so that you can be a partaker of the victory you
have in Christ and no longer be subject to sin and death?
Galatians 6:1-3 Brethren, if a man be
overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the
spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. (2) Bear
ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. (3) For if a man
think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. (KJV)
How about when a situation arises in the
body of Christ, who is God going to go to in order to see some restoration
brought forth; is it going to be a bunch of carnal finger pointing self
righteous children, or is He looking for someone Spiritual? Are you one of
those Spiritual people, having found your own deliverance through Christ
and not by something you thought you did on your own? There are plenty of
faultfinders who can tell everyone else how to run their lives but the
reality is, that their own house is not in order, well at least a Spiritual
order I should say.
1 Corinthians 2:12-14 Now we have
received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that
we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (13) Which
things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but
which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (14)
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they
are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned. (KJV)
A Spiritual being, that being Christ, is
looking for those that are willing to take the things of God and actually
put them into practice in their own walk. Ever try to have an intelligent
or deep conversation with a child? It doesn’t go too far does it? Well, for
many of God’s people they don’t go very far in their walk either, because
rather than being led by His Spirit they stay entrapped in their own carnal
understanding, seeking more to please self rather than God in heaven.
Ephesians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings
in heavenly places in Christ: (4) According as he hath chosen us in him
before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without
blame before him in love: (KJV)
Spiritual people will be seeking more the
Spiritual blessings, knowing that this carnal realm has nothing to offer them
anymore. Where your treasure is, is what will determine the direction of
the heart; and as I look around at what man calls a church it is nothing
more than a bunch of childish blind people leading other blind children
into a ditch again.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of
life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (KJV)
What about you; are you still leaning to
your own carnal understanding, or have you added something else to the mix,
someone Spiritual in nature to show you the way of escape? You know, that
old law was spiritual, so it took someone Spiritual to overcome it as well,
and that man would be Jesus Christ our only hope of glory. God bless and
