The Lord Working With Them
James 2:26 For as the body without the
spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (KJV)
If one is not acting on what they are
hearing from the Lord then they have hit a dead end, or as some have
described it, a brick wall. God breathed life into mankind by the death of
His Son so that we could walk by faith, our Spiritual senses, so that we no
longer had to be in bondage to this dead end fallen realm of the flesh. Is
there some life in your walk today knowing that you are being led by the
Spirit, or have you retreated and fallen away, becoming a deadbeat by your
lack of diligence?
Mark 16:17-20 And these signs shall
follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall
speak with new tongues; (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink
any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick,
and they shall recover. (19) So then after the Lord had spoken unto them,
he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (20) And
they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and
confirming the word with signs following. Amen. (KJV)
You know, before my conversion with the
Lord it was the enemy and his influence that I allowed to toss me to and
fro like some staggering drunk. I was a willing participant in the things
of this fallen world, drinking in any deadly doctrine and wholeheartedly
walking a path to fulfill the desires of the flesh. That all changes or
should be changing now that we have allowed the Lord into our lives; He is
and should be working with you as well so that you can be the one that is
doing the casting out and not being the one cast out.
Colossians 1:27-29 To whom God would make
known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles;
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (28) Whom we preach, warning
every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every
man perfect in Christ Jesus: (29) Whereunto I also labour, striving
according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. (KJV)
There is only one hope of glory; a man
who has been here and done what it takes to make it home desires to work in
and through you also if you are willing and obedient. Paul talks about a
labor, one I will call a labor of love. I have learned for myself that the
more I can stay out of the Lord’s way with my thoughts and ideas, then the
more I actually stay in the way the Lord intended for me. Many people
desire to see and have the Lord working in them, the question now becomes
will they let Him?
Luke 16:10-11 He that is faithful in that
which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least
is unjust also in much. (11) If therefore ye have not been faithful in the
unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? (KJV)
You know, those things that you think are
trivial, things you skip over, looking for bigger and better things in your
walk? Yeah, those were the things that you should have given attention to,
and it is those areas that have kept you at a standstill so to speak. Like
with a child, you need to learn to walk before you can run. Oh, and how
about those financial issues that you have been dealing with, are you
willing to turn that over to the Lord and step out in faith?
Philippians 2:12-14 Wherefore, my
beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much
more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (13)
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good
pleasure. (14) Do all things without murmurings and disputings: (KJV)
God would like to work in your life; the
question now becomes will you let Him? While you were murmuring and fussing
over trivial things you missed out on the eternal things that the Lord
would have had you step into today.
Philippians 2:15-16 That ye may be
blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a
crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (16)
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ,
that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. (KJV)
The word ‘vain’ means empty or useless;
which in the end accurately describes a body of believers without the Spirit.
