A Heavenly Proposal

2 Timothy 1:9-10 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (KJV)

So you have dreams, desires, things you would like to accomplish while you are here on planet earth? Well, you know, the Lord has a plan, a purpose or proposal for you as well; an intention or intended destination He planned and thought of before the foundation of this world. Do you really desire to know what that purpose is for your life, because if you do and are willing to follow through with it, then that will result in an eternal marriage with Him. What is your real plan and purpose you have today, is it in line with one that was drawn up for you before the founding of this world, or are you drawing your own conclusions based on your fallen desires and not on one that will last for an eternity?

Ephesians 1:11-13 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: (12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. (13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘predestination’:

4309  proorizo-

1) to predetermine, to decide beforehand

2) in the New Testament, used of God decreeing from eternity

3) to foreordain, to appoint beforehand

Williams New Testament translation of Ephesians 1:11-13

11. in union with whom we were made God's portion, since we had been foreordained in accordance with the purpose of Him who in everything carries out the plan of His will, 12. that we who had first put our hope in Christ might praise His glory. 13. You too, as you have heard the message of the truth, the good news that means your salvation, and as you have trusted in Him too, have been stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit

Ooohhhh, there is a word that gets misconstrued and thrown around with many winds of doctrine, that being predestination. Some actually think that God literally forces people into His kingdom, whether they like it or not. Others think that God only chooses a select number, and everyone else is left on the outside whether they like it or not. However, for those that know the truth and have let that truth set them free, they understand the true simple meaning of the Word, and know the promises of God are there for any and all that would call upon the name of the Lord, and then walk according to His will.

2 Peter 3:9-11 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. (11) Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, (KJV)

You know, if it is the will of the Lord that none should perish then it would be fitting to say that our Lord sent us a savior so that none would have to perish? Knowing the fact that God has done His part and provided a way of escape for all mankind, what excuse is there for not being a part of His inheritance? Again we see the fact that this carnal realm is going to come to a burning end, then why would you have any other desire than to serve our Lord and partake of a Spiritual wedding feast that you are invited to?

Ephesians 3:9-12 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (10) To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, (11) According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: (12) In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. (KJV)

The more you look to the heavenly realm to see the eternal purpose God has for your life, the more you will have some boldness and access to that realm with confidence, believing what His plan and purpose is, and not what you think you need to do. There is spiritual wickedness in high places trying to keep you from accessing the true riches that are in this realm, by keeping you in the dark to what God’s true plan and purpose is for you life, His desire that He wishes to bless His people with. But how would you ever know this unless you make it a priority in your life, seeking first the kingdom of God and your right standing with Him before seeking your own desires? We are not talking about a job situation or anything else that involves something temporal, but rather we need to be seeking and knowing for ourselves what God has purposed for us so that we can access and stay seated in our place in the body.

1 John 3:7-9 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. (8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (9) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (KJV)

You know, that seed that is within you is Christ, and as long as your desire is to please Him then you will not be falling back into the realm of sin which is unbelief; but rather you will continue in the victory our Lord accomplished on behalf of His people. A heavenly proposal has been placed before us, now it is a matter of how many will say I do, not just in word but in deed also.
