Dishonorable Discharge
Galatians 1:3-5 Grace be to you and peace
from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, (4) Who gave himself
for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world,
according to the will of God and our Father: (5) To whom be glory for ever
and ever. Amen. (KJV)
For those that have served our country
honorably, they are then discharged with their papers that give them access
to the services provided for our veterans. By the way, while on this topic,
let me say thank you to all those that have gone out and about to serve our
country and lay down their lives so that we could have the freedom to
worship God. If you notice in verse 4, it says that he ‘might’ deliver us.
Now does this mean that we should try to catch the Lord on a good day when
He is in a good mood, or does it mean something else; maybe, the ‘might’
part is on our end?
1Thessalonians 4:3-7 For this is the will
of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
(4) That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in
sanctification and honour; (5) Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as
the Gentiles which know not God: (6) That no man go beyond and defraud his
brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as
we also have forewarned you and testified. (7) For God hath not called us
unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. (KJV)
Here is a show stopper people, Church,
not only the knowing part about keeping your vessel sanctified, but the
doing part also. We are surrounded by a fallen world, people that ignore
the counsel of God and basically sell their soul for a feeling. Though you
think that this is a no brainer, you would be amazed to know just how much
of this sensuality has crept into and has taken many of God’s people back
down to the pit. This mindset of the world, and thinking that God bends and
conforms with the times, will keep you from inheriting your eternal
inheritance if you accept and put this lie into practice as well.
Ephesians 5:5-8 For this ye know, that no
whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath
any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (6) Let no man deceive
you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God
upon the children of disobedience. (7) Be not ye therefore partakers with
them. (8) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord:
walk as children of light: (KJV)
Are you really going to throw your
inheritance down the drain for a quick little fling, something that you
think will bring satisfaction? Those that know the Lord are those who
should be possessing their vessels (which by the way are actually the
property of God) in the way that He intended it to be kept up; not brought
down with some cheap lie. But you know, by hanging around those of the
world, or by you deciding to get involved with someone that still holds
more to this present world, eventually you will end up trying to please
them and yourself, and quickly forget what our Lord says and requires of
you.
Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honorable in
all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
(KJV)
You know, before you receive your eternal
reward of inheritance you will have to stand before the Lord and give an
account of what you did with your vessel, which in truth is actually the
Lord’s. Although many today make the statement “my body, my choice”, it is
still the Lord’s body and His choice of who will receive their eternal
inheritance in heaven. As we see above, marriage is the only union, which
still is between a man and a woman, that God blesses, while anything
outside that realm is not of God, period. So while you allowed yourself to
drift off into the realm of sensuality you took yourself out of the will of
God, and are now driven by your own fallen desires which will result in you
falling for a cheap lie and hoax of the enemy.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Know ye not that the
unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of
themselves with mankind, (10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor
revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (11) And such
were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are
justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (KJV)
There is definitely some clauses and
conditions in our heavenly contract that need to be attended to and then
acted on if one is truly going to receive their inheritance. Once you have
been washed and cleansed by the living Spiritual water of the Word, it is
up to you to stay clean and not allow yourself to be spotted with the
things of this world again.
Hebrews 12:14-16 Follow peace with all
men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (15) Looking
diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of
bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; (16) Lest
there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of
meat sold his birthright. (KJV)
While you were off and running, chasing
some carnal desire, the enemy planted a seed that is now sprouting and
taking root, something that is not bringing life but is rather bitter,
poisonous would be another way of putting it. If you go back and read the
example of Esau and what was rightfully his to inherit, you see that he
sold out and missed it. Today, we still have many of God’s people who
rather than receive what is rightfully theirs have sold their soul for a
feeling, and if continued will result in a dishonorable discharged from the
ranks of our Lord.
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the
flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, (20) Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, (21) Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also
told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the
kingdom of God. (KJV)
The Bible is consistent, and clear on
these issues, are you? Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and
forever; so if you try to change His rules to fit your life then you will
miss the eternal life He had intended for you.
