Exit Strategy
1 Timothy 6:7-8 For we brought nothing
into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (8) And having
food and raiment let us be therewith content. (KJV)
Remember what you came into this world
with when you arrived? Well most of us entered this realm wearing nothing
more than a smile. Keep in mind too that a u-haul trailer was not able to
fit into your mother’s womb and so you didn’t bring any possessions when
you came; the u-haul trailer will not fit into the eternal realm either.
You entered this realm with nothing; yet, if you were to exit this realm
today do you have everything it takes to enter your eternal realm, you know
the way God intended and not man?
Psalms 28:1-3 Unto thee will I cry, O
LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become
like them that go down into the pit. (2) Hear the voice of my
supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy
holy oracle. (3) Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of
iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their
hearts. (KJV)
You know, the first sound that we made
when we were brought into this world was, we cried out, seeking provisions
that were needed. For many of us the first thing we experience is a doctor
spanking our backside to see if there is life, and get us to respond. For
many of us this same pattern holds true and continues; the Lord will give
us a Spiritual spanking to see if there is life and a response to His
calling. Crying unto to the Lord means to seek out and request; and for
those that train themselves in the way of the Lord the first food and
raiment they will be seeking out is the Spiritual, the only one that will
last and provide all of our need. You know, the more you seek first the
kingdom of God and His righteousness, allowing His robe to cover you, the
less of your backside will be exposed, so that you won’t make a backside
out of yourself as well.
Psalms 141:1-3 LORD, I cry unto thee:
make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee. (2) Let
my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my
hands as the evening sacrifice. (3) Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth;
keep the door of my lips. (KJV)
Think back on your life, and when you
needed or desired something, how quickly you would speak up or even cry out
to have your voice heard. Now ask yourself, is that same zeal and effort
being put into your Spiritual life, the desires of the heart that should be
seeking the things above more than those that are below? Being the fact
that this realm is the temporal one, you know the one that doesn’t last
forever, which realm today really has the most impact and influence on your
life, and which one will you truly seek after?
James 4:13-17 Go to now, ye that say, To
day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year,
and buy and sell, and get gain: (14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on
the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for
a little time, and then vanisheth away. (15) For that ye ought to say, If
the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. (16) But now ye rejoice
in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. (17) Therefore to him that
knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (KJV)
What is the real motive for your
decisions in life; is it based solely on the outward, or are you truly
motivated by the inward? Are you doing things and considering success based
on gain monetarily, or are you walking by faith, doing what will be
pleasing in our Lord’s sight? If you truly know who you are in Christ, the
liberty and freedom that is available right now, this day, then you
wouldn’t be so entangled with the affairs of this life but would be
preparing yourself to enter the next one which is eternal. Are you really
convinced that godliness with contentment is great gain, or are you still
holding on to some excess baggage that you think will make you complete and
whole?
Colossians 3:1-3 If ye then be risen with
Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the
right hand of God. (2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on
the earth. (3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (KJV)
A lot of people desire to spend an
eternity with God, but so few are dying to get there. If you desire to make
sure that you make it home then it would do you well to start looking that
way, now, today, and don’t wait until you find out that you spent more time
seeking the things of this fallen realm rather than the things of your
eternal inheritance. You came into this world with nothing; however, you
have opportunity to leave with everything. Now the question becomes, will
you unhook the u-haul trailer and move forward in your walk.
Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your conversation be
without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he
hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (6) So that we may
boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do
unto me. (KJV)
No man can serve two masters; not because
I say so but our Lord is quite specific and consistent in pointing this out,
throughout His Word. If you desire to partake of the things of God then you
will need to forgo the things of this life, so that you can replace any
fears and doubts with a boldness and confidence knowing that you are one of
His. Do you desire a surefire exit strategy, one that will get you from
here to eternity? Then start looking within so that you won’t be left
without. God bless and be content with who you are in Christ; that special
unique creation that you truly are.
