Work It Out
Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my
beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much
more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (13)
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good
pleasure. (KJV)
Having read Paul’s own adventures in his
walk with the Lord, in the end what worked for him is the only thing that
will work for you, that being the fact that your relationship with the Lord
is a personal one. Just like in a marriage, the communication needs to be
one-on-one and not through other people in order to establish a loving and long
lasting relationship.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 For I have
received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord
Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: (24) And when he
had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which
is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. (25) After the same manner
also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of
me. (26) For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew
the Lord's death till he come. (KJV)
One of the most important things you need
to work out within yourself is the fact that God is a Spirit and they that
now worship Him must do so in Spirit and in truth. Things that we saw our
Lord do and demonstrate in the outward realm have an inward Spiritual
meaning, something each and every believer in Christ needs to understand.
While many today still re-enact what they call the last supper, it was a
precursor to what is or should now be taking place in the realm of the
Spirit.
Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, who is rich in
mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, (5) Even when we were dead
in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (6)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus: (KJV)
Spiritually picture yourself sitting
around a table, in an upper room or how about a heavenly one, today, right
now, giving ear and partaking of the bread of life. What many have referred
to as a last supper was just that, the last one that took place in this worldly
realm. However, for those that have progressed and moved forward in their
walk with the Lord, this should now be referred to as the lasting supper,
the only bread that will truly satisfy and give life to their spirit.
1 Corinthians 11:29-31 For he that eateth
and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not
discerning the Lord's body. (30) For this cause many are weak and sickly
among you, and many sleep. (31) For if we would judge ourselves, we should
not be judged. (KJV)
Want to know what happened to the many
that were called and yet why only a few are truly chosen? Well, many
misjudged, they did not rightly divide and discern the difference between
what was of soul and spirit.
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is
not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy
Ghost. (KJV)
Many today still hold to the outward
ritual of the bread and cup routine, and are still in a weak state, shall
we say in the infant stage. What you see in the gospels concerning the
things that our Lord did have a much of a deeper meaning, but only if one
goes beyond the realm of the flesh in order to see and find it.
Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life in
Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (KJV)
You know, if you would judge yourself, or
how about judging and discerning for yourself letting the Lord show you
personally His true meaning and Spiritual interpretation of His Word, you
would not fall under the category of weak, sick, or even asleep
Spiritually. Work it out for yourself; get a firm grasp of the Word of God
and don’t let go or fall for man’s limited carnal interpretations of the Word.
