Blind Leading The Blind
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness
unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(KJV)
Not only is the natural man unable to
receive the things of God, but those that are in the flesh cannot please
God either because they are unable to discern, unable to tell the
difference between what is of God and what is man’s interpretation of
things. If you were to ask people to take a survey of who the Lord is and
how He operates, for every different person would come a different
viewpoint. If one truly desires to make it to their eternal destination and
be allowed access to their reward then it can only take place by faith,
believing more in the unseen and not leaning any longer to the things seen.
Luke 6:37-39 Judge not, and ye shall not
be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye
shall be forgiven: (38) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure,
pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into
your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be
measured to you again. (39) And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind
lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? (KJV)
How do most people judge and discern
things by, including themselves? Is it really according to the Lord and how
He views them, or do most judge according to the outward thinking that they
are better than others? How about verse 38 where you see the word ‘give’?
Have we not all been bombarded with this verse by carnal people who claim
they are spiritual, who use this verse as a catalyst for their endless
money pitches? How about giving yourself, presenting yourself to our Lord
as a living sacrifice, ready, willing, and able to do whatever He asks of
you this day, whatever He sees is just for you? So where do people end up
who are self righteous and very judgmental? Usually in a ditch with all the
other blind people who follow their own limited carnal thinking and don’t
renew their minds with the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 4:2-4 Moreover it is
required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. (3) But with me it is a
very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea,
I judge not mine own self. (4) For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not
hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. (KJV)
You want to know why Paul was considered
faithful, so faithful that God chose him to pen a good part of the
epistles? Well, for starters he wasn’t a people pleaser, so it didn’t stop
him or alter his path concerning what others thought of him. The fact is
that Paul took the time to hear the Lord personally for himself where he
really stood with God, and what it would take to stay in good standing with
Him. As we see in verse 4, Paul considered his own thoughts and ways
nothing, knowing that his justification came solely from the Lord and not
any man.
Galatians 3:1-3 O foolish Galatians, who
hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes
Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? (2) This
only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law,
or by the hearing of faith? (3) Are ye so foolish? having begun in the
Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? (KJV)
What’s the first thing they ask someone
when they end up in a ditch, maybe what happened? Well, if it was faith
that got you on solid ground with our Lord and had you on the road to
salvation then it would be safe to say that falling asleep at the wheel is
what got you in the ditch with the rest of those that were blinded by their
own darkened carnal vision. Hey, here is some advice, make sure the tow
truck driver that shows up isn’t blind either or you will just end up in a
ditch again.
