It Really Is That Simple

Galatians 3:24-26 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (25) But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (26) For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. (KJV)

So that’s it, all one has to do is put their faith and trust in what Christ has done for us? I am now considered a child of God and a part of His family because I believe that His Son did a complete work on our behalf? But what about those people that say I have to go to a lake or a river and get dunked in water, what’s that all about? Well it’s about time you kept it simple Church and let the Lord show you His plan of salvation personally and how He would have us operate in it, and not listen to a bunch of carnal milk Christians who think the works of the old law are still in play.

John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? (29) Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (KJV)

As you see clearly written in the above verses, that the people were wondering, what are the works that they would need to do to be pleasing to God. Well, our Lord narrowed it all down to one; simply believe in what the Son accomplished on our behalf, this same Son that is now seated at the right hand of God mediating His plan of salvation personally. How personal is it to you? Well if you are trying to work your way into heaven by listening to the many who have added to the Word of God then I would say you are still in the dark. However, if one just keeps it as simple as the Lord said it really is then they will see for themselves how the Lord can truly be alive and real in their own lives.

Hebrews 5:11-14 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. (12) For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. (13) For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. (14) But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (KJV)

The writer of Hebrews was able to see clearly what the problem was, those that should be teaching the people the simplicity of the gospel of Christ, well, their hearing was dulled. Do you want to know how and why this happened, that instead of growing up and maturing in the realm of the Spirit they were acting like a bunch of whiny babies?

Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (KJV)

Well, here is the first clue folks, those that should have been teaching the people the simplicity of the gospel of Christ had decided to throw the works of the old law into the mix; which really mixed things up and made a mess, kind of like spilled milk would. When you see those who teach and preach anything other than believing simply in the Son, and yeah I know how popular that water baptism stuff is, according to the Word it is just a watered down has been doctrine. Our Lord fulfilled all of the old law, including the carnal washings so that you wouldn’t have to do anything else but believe in Him. It really is that simple.
