A Ransom Note
1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God, and
one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (6) Who gave
himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (KJV)
You know, when a kidnapping incident takes
place it is usually followed by a ransom note or demand. In the case of
mankind they were abducted by sin, and the only way we could be bought back
is by the sacrifice of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Now that the Lord has
paid the price in full, not just for a few select people by the way, but as
we see in verse six this ransom is for all; whosoever will call upon the
name of the Lord. Once you accepted the Lord’s plan of salvation, keep in
mind that was just the beginning, now you need to follow through by hearing
on a daily basis how to stay free and not end up being taken captive again
by the devil.
Acts 20:28-30 Take heed therefore unto
yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made
you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his
own blood. (29) For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous
wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. (30) Also of your own
selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples
after them. (KJV)
Our Lord paid quite a price to get you
back, and it is His desire that you stay in good standing with Him. You
know if one of your own children were abducted, what price would you pay to
get them back? Now think of this fact, how much would it hurt you to see
your child come back from his captors only to see them turn around and go
right back into captivity again? Think it doesn’t happen Church? Well,
remember many are called and yet only a few are chosen. So just what the
heck did you think happened to the many? Your Bible is very specific in
which direction the many are headed.
Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the
power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy
plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from
mine eyes. (KJV)
With a ransom demand it is usually
accompanied by a death threat, in which case is real. Now that the price
has been paid, will you continue in the freedom that our Lord has provided
through His Word, or will you entangle yourself in the affairs of this
temporal life again, a life that leads to death?
Mark 10:43-45 But so shall it not be
among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: (44)
And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. (45) For
even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to
give his life a ransom for many. (KJV)
Now that the Lord has paid the price He
is seeking those that will worship, or live in the realm of the Spirit,
according to His truth. Are you one of His ministers pointing the people to
their Deliverer, or are you seeking the praise of men diverting the
attention to yourself?
Colossians 1:13-14 Who hath delivered us
from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his
dear Son: (14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the
forgiveness of sins: (KJV)
Now that you have been set free from your
captivity, and the blindfold is taken away in Christ, will you continue to
walk in the deliverance provided for you? Your Bible is a ransom note, with
the terms and conditions of your freedom clearly there for the taking, are
you taking the time to read and hear it daily so that you can stay free?
