Simple Liberty

Galatians 5:1-3 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (2) Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. (3) For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. (KJV)

Traditions, rudiments of the world, doctrines of man, oh how we are surrounded with so many opinions, and yet with that in mind why do so few of God’s people go to the Word and settle it for themselves? Yeah I say few, because no matter how the works and the bondage of the old law manifests, whether circumcisions or baptisms, it takes you out of the realm of grace and back into the fallen realm of works, which really doesn’t work at all.

Galatians 5:4-6 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. (5) For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. (6) For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (KJV)

So simple; faith, a simple faith in what our Lord did for us, not what we think we need to do that we think would ever impress Him, total nonsense. Faith, simple faith, that’s it folks, because without faith you cannot please and never will be able to please God, period. But hey, had you taken the time in the Word rather than just taking someone else’s word for it then you would know that. I mean after all we are talking about our eternal destination where we will actually be spending our eternity, and if we are not with Him today then don’t expect to be with Him forever.

Hebrews 6:1-6 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, (2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (3) And this will we do, if God permit. (4) For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (5) And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, (6) If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (KJV)

Please take note of this fact, that those that still hold to these old traditional ways of what they think is serving the Lord have actually already fallen away as we just saw illustrated in Galatians 5:4. That word ‘if’ that you see in verse 6:6 of Hebrews is actually an added word; so simply put, those that are still partaking of these works have fallen away already, and are actually crucifying the doctrine of Christ all over again. Ouch.

Galatians 5:7-8 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? (8) This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. (KJV)

Is there a tradition or doctrine that you have allowed to sneak by you, something that is hindering your growth? Just as simple as the doctrine of Christ is, you will find that the cheap lie that the enemy threw your way is simple to see through as well if you open your heart to the truth.
