The Greatest Motivation
John 15:11-13 These things have I spoken
unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
(12) This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
(13) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends. (KJV)
If you haven’t been experiencing the joy
of the Lord lately, maybe you need to look at your motives to see if
something is amiss? I myself was looking for something greater when I came
to the Lord, and He delivered. Now that we have found the only true joy and
peace available to mankind, is it not rewarding when we are able to share
it with others and see them experience it as well? Well, according to the word
of God, given by God who cannot lie, there is nothing greater than this
love.
Williams New Testament translation
1Corinthians 13:1-3
1. If I could speak the languages of men,
of angels too, and have no love, I am only a rattling pan or a clashing
cymbal. 2. If I should have the gift of prophecy, And know all secret
truths, and knowledge in its every form, and have such perfect faith that I
could move mountains, but have no love, I am nothing. 3. If I should dole
out everything I have for charity, and give my body up to torture in mere
boasting pride, but have no love, I get from it no good at all.
Oh all these high priced fire powered so
called men of God, is that what really is pleasing to Our Father in heaven?
All these hotshots in three piece suits followed by two bit doctrines, not
much of the love of God going on there. When one is looking to mankind for
attention and accolades, they will no longer be getting the attention from
above, at least not in a positive manner. Come the day of judgment, all
these hirelings and entertainers that thought that having their name in
lights was something, will find out their name is no longer written in the Lamb’s
book of life either, but erased, blotted out.
Matthew 6:1-4 Take heed that ye do not
your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of
your Father which is in heaven. (2) Therefore when thou doest thine alms,
do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues
and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you,
They have their reward. (3) But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand
know what thy right hand doeth: (4) That thine alms may be in secret: and
thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. (KJV)
You know, the one that really gets me is
when they have to interview people, and only handpicked ones by the way,
who like puppets will say things to promote their ministries. I say they
should start interviewing those with negative opinions, like they did for
our Lord when He walked this earth, then that would show me a true man of
God who was willing to do the will of God despite what man thinks. Do you
need mankind to see what you are doing in order to be justified, or are you
content knowing God is watching?
Colossians 3:23-25 And whatsoever ye do,
do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; (24) Knowing that of the
Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord
Christ. (25) But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he
hath done: and there is no respect of persons. (KJV)
You desire the Lord’s reward? Then you
will need to do things His way. In conclusion, if you desire to partake of
the greatest love and reward available to us, then get out of the way and
do it unto the Lord, and seek His reward instead of mans. What is your
greatest motivation?
