Tour Guide

John 16:12-14 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. (13) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (14) He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (KJV)

For those of you who have ever traveled to a foreign country, or have gone to a museum with things from another culture, they usually provide a tour guide, someone who is familiar with the surroundings and how things work in this environment. Our Father from heaven provided mankind with a tour guide, someone who is familiar with His realm, so that the Spirit of truth could lead and guide us out of this present evil world and into the realm of liberty from this fallen world and its influences.

Hebrews 12:22-24 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, (23) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, (24) And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. (KJV)

Jesus of Nazareth was the firstborn again man who demonstrated to us how to live a life being led by the Spirit, and no longer being blinded by the veil of the flesh. This man lived a life without sin because he allowed the Spirit of truth to be His guide, and not the outward appearance of this fallen realm. You have a Spiritual tour guide, ready, willing, and available right now to take you on a guided tour from this temporal realm into the eternal one that awaits all those that choose to allow the Spirit to guide them. After all, look where this first born man ended up, seated at the right hand of the Father. Who better to be leading and guiding you this day?

Williams New Testament translation of Hebrews 12:22-24

22. But you have come to Mount Zion, even to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless hosts of angels, 23. to the festal gathering and assembly of God's firstborn sons enrolled as citizens in heaven, to a Judge who is the God of all, to the spirits of upright men who have attained perfection,  24. to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks a better message than even Abel's did.

Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith, without believing in this message sent by God through Him, it is impossible to please God or finish the course that He planned for us before the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 12:25-26 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: (26) Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. (KJV)

In the Old Testament, God would speak through His prophets as the Holy Spirit came upon them. Now we have direct access to God through His Son so that He can speak directly to us, thus the reason why He sent the Son. Are you listening to the one and only tour guide today, the only one that will lead you from here to eternity?
