Reverse Psychology
Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not
myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those
things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are
before, (14) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of
God in Christ Jesus. (KJV)
While the world and its worldly people
will try to take people back into their past to find what the cause is of
their problems, those that are known of God and desire to keep in good
standing with Him will continue their search in what is in front of them
and not behind. After all, the Lord said that His people would be the head
and not the tail. Think about this fact, why does traffic go forward much
better than in reverse? Don’t we have enough wrecks as it is now, just
think what kind of mess we would have out there if everyone on the freeway
tried going in reverse instead of forward?
Isaiah 55:8-10 For my thoughts are not
your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. (9) For as
the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your
ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (10) For as the rain cometh down,
and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the
earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the
sower, and bread to the eater: (KJV)
Haven’t we all spent enough time in the
past trying to move forward in life, only to find out that we were actually
going the wrong way, or should I say in reverse? Hard to navigate let alone
avoid a wreck when going backwards instead of forward. In fact, you will
find that many accidents occur when one is in reverse and unable to see
where they are going or what is headed in their direction. So with that in
mind, let the living waters clear your windshield so that you can wipe away
the muck and grime of your lower fallen nature, and move forward to the
place the Lord would have you at today.
Isaiah 55:11-13 So shall my word be that
goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall
accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I
sent it. (12) For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace:
the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and
all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (13) Instead of the
thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up
the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting
sign that shall not be cut off. (KJV)
Do you really desire different results,
something that actually does work? Then it will take a different approach
in a different direction than the world is heading in, or should I say
regressing in. Instead of a day late and a dime short, look ahead or toward
the Head of the Church; Christ in you the hope of glory will give you a
clear line of sight on which way you need to go this day, right now.
Reverse psychology, only if you are willing to forget those things which
are behind, and continue moving forward to where your true inheritance is
in front of you. God bless and don’t get behind anymore.
