Wait Upon The Lord
Isaiah 40:30-31 Even the youths shall
faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: (31) But they
that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up
with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall
walk, and not faint. (KJV)
We have talked this week about being a
servant of the Lord, having experienced His love, and seeking how we can
reciprocate His love in return. How many truly wait upon the Lord, coming
to Him and seeking more of His will and desire for them, and less of their
own?
Romans 12:10-13 Be kindly affectioned one
to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; (11) Not
slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; (12) Rejoicing
in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; (13) Distributing
to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. (KJV)
In this self serving, fast food, drive
through mentality that we are surrounded with, our Lord’s realm is just the
opposite. Instead of looking out for number one (which in the past was our
self), we are to put others as number one first, so that our life doesn’t
reflect something that is more in the line of number two in the Lord’s
sight.
Matthew 25:34-36 Then shall the King say
unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (35) For I was
an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was
a stranger, and ye took me in: (36) Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick,
and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. (KJV)
When you go to a restaurant and they
provide a menu, you then expect to be served what is on that menu.
Spiritually, the Lord has the meat of His word available, but it takes
those that understand how it is prepared and distributed as well in order
to receive the Lord’s reward. Many don’t have a clue what the real
necessity of the saints is because they are looking more in the realm of
the flesh rather than knowing the Spiritual need. Those that know the Lord,
and are waiting on Him, will be able to go to His kitchen and bring forth a
meal fit for a King, as well as one of His people.
Psalms 145:14-16 The LORD upholdeth all that
fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. (15) The eyes of all
wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. (16) Thou
openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. (KJV)
There is not much of the meat of the Word
out there Church, because many are still stuck in their infantile childish
ways of thinking that is based more on what they have learned from man
rather than God. There are a few that are chosen of God who truly know how
to distribute to the necessity of the saints, because they have taken the
time to wait upon the Lord, letting His truth set them free to grow and
mature in the realm of the Spirit. There is only one thing that will
satisfy a Spiritual hunger; and just as meat is a source of protein for the
flesh, how much more the meat of the Word of God will satisfy the inward
hunger.
Psalms 123:1-2 Unto thee lift I up mine
eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. (2) Behold, as the eyes of
servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden
unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God,
until that he have mercy upon us. (KJV)
So in conclusion, do you see yourself as
a Spiritual waiter, waiting on the Lord as well as the needs of His people?
Well, here is a tip waiter, set your affection and sight above, and you
will never be let down by the things below. God bless and keep serving our
Lord in Spirit and in truth.
